The water treatment system is the most important part of a renal unit. It changes the usual tap water into highly purified water for haemodialysis.  It removes the minerals, bacteria, pyrogens etc from the city water and affects the safety of the patients.  The setup and maintenance of a water treatment system is complicated.

Dr Ho Chung Ping reviewed the process with Ms Cheuk Wai Han and Ms Wong Sui Lan on the principles.  There was a tour to the water treatment centre as well.
