A dialysis catheter may be pulled out by the patient himself. The cause is usually due to confusion or mental stress of the patient.  It occurs in about once in every 100 implanted catheters. This causes grave danger to patients including bleeding and sucking air into the blood stream through the hole in the vein.   Dr Ho Chung Ping explained the first aid measures, the problems faced and the ways to tackle the problems. The video include a video on the implantation of a new catheter on the left side.
