In haemodialysis, an AVF is the gold standard.  Dialysis catheters are used when a blood vessel access is urgently needed or when the patients own veins are not good.  Dr Ho Chung Ping described the development of the dialysis catheters in the past three decades and the state of the art situation. Ms Hannah Yuen was the facilitator.
